Privacy issues in Snapchat

The company will collect some of you information according to their privacy policy. They will collect usage information, content information, device information, device contact book and photos, location information, website log information and tracking technology, such as cookies.
First of all, the information about the message users send and receive would be collected. For instance, when a user is using the app, he/she send a message to his/her friend. The information of date, time, sender, receiver of this message would be collected in the background without notifying the user. They would collected the same information of every message the user send or receive as well as the snap photo and snap video he/she send.
Next, the content of message would be collected. In most cases, the content of a snap photo or a snap video would not be saved, but once the recipient captured a screen shot and save it on his/her devices, the system would try to notify the sender.
Also, the company would collect the device information. The device information includes but not limited to hardware model, operating system and its version, MAC address, preferred browsers, preferred languages, mobile phone numbers and network information. These information is usually used for troubleshooting that would diagnose any crashes or problems their users face. This information collecting process is operated in the background, which means that the user would not be notified.
